On December 31 the INDIMO project is coming to its end. After three years of hard work Mobilise and 14 partners have delivered new, invaluable knowledge on the needs of people in vulnerable situation, their requirements towards digital mobility and delivery services, and the INDIMO Digital Mobility Toolbox, which is now available in 6 languages.
The INDIMO Inclusive Digital Mobility Toolbox contains 5 online tools and has been developed to help developers, policy makers and service operators to design and implement accessible and inclusive mobility solutions for all kinds of digital mobility and delivery services.
With the help of the Toolbox you can:
- Design digital transport solutions that are better tailored to citizens’ needs, especially those of users who experience barriers in using digital services, by means of the UDM – Universal Design manual.
- Design universally understandable interfaces between transport end-users and the digital mobility system, through the UIL – Universal interface language manual.
- Ensure data protection and cybersecurity in digital transport solutions, by means of the CSG – Cybersecurity and privacy assessment guidelines.
- Evaluate the compliance of digital mobility solutions and services with the universal design principles, through the online SET – Service evaluation tool.
- Identify, select and filter a list of recommendations derived from our research with end users in the INDIMO Recommendations browsable list.
Each tool provides access to project results such as research insights, methodologies, surveys, exercises, documents, templates and a list of recommendations. All provided materials are open access and they can be used to analyse, evaluate and re-design all kinds of digital mobility services.
While the project finishes, our work certainly continues. This is only the beginning of a long journey to provide for the needs of all the people in vulnerable situations across the continent.
The joint recommendations were released at the final event organized in collaboration with the TRIPS and DIGNITY projects on 7 December 2022. We are asking for more funding for research and innovation in inclusive mobility; a common European platform to exchange best practices; and the addition of inclusive co-design principles to European and national guidelines and policies.
So, stay with us also after the official end of the project. Let’s interact at conferences, European and national events and let’s keep in touch on the European Transport and Mobility Forum, which will be a repository and place of interaction for tools, knowledge and best practice to support the development of user centric transport in Europe.
