Biography
Juliana Betancur Arenas is a sustainable mobility researcher at the Mobilise Mobility and Logistics Research Group (VUB) and the research support and project coordinator of the SWIFFT Collective (VUB/ULB). She holds a Master’s in Urban Studies (VUB/ULB, Belgium) and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (EAFIT, Colombia).
Her work focuses on active mobility adoption, cycling behaviour, and inclusive cycling from a gender perspective. She has contributed to the Cairgo Bike and Street Forum projects and co-led the Queer Mobilities project. Juliana also has experience in designing active mobility infrastructure in Colombia and France, as well as in cycling and public transport advocacy.
