Mareile Wiegmann

Mareile Wiegmann acquired a MSc in International Spatial Planning at University College London (UCL) after completing a Bachelor in Integrated Social Sciences at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany. During her time as a researcher at the VUB with Mobilise from 2017 to 2020, her work was situated in the field of sustainable mobility, with the main focus on participatory co-creation methodologies like Living Labs in the realm of traffic calming and pedestrianisation. She then founded her own business on educating and mentoring on financial literacy, frugalism and Financial Independence.

Mareile rejoined Mobilise in 2025 as Project Management Officer. She is supporting the team with everything surrounding the research — from financial and personnel matters like managing project budgets and contracts, to internal and external communication and identifying new funding opportunities.
