We are pleased to invite you to the SmartHubs Stakeholder Workshop 'Smart Mobility Hubs as drivers of urban transformation that will take place on October 16, 2023 in Brussels.
The workshop will bring together municipalities, transport operators, shared mobility providers, civil society and researchers to discuss how mobility hubs can contribute to the transformation of cities towards more liveable places. The workshop is organized as part of a series of stakeholder workshops of the SmartHubs project funded by JPI Urban Europe, the European Commission and Innoviris.
Would you like to learn about the new strategy of the Brussel Region for Mobility Hubs? Are you interested in how hubs can be co-designed with vulnerable people? Would you use one of the SmartHubs planning tools to plan and design mobility hubs? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, save the date and reserve your place at the workshop that will take place at Brussels Mobility (Place Saint-Lazare 2, 1035 Brussels) on 16 October 2023. Please register until 6 October. Places are limited. Linked to the workshop we are also organizing a guided walk around the North Station in Brussels between 11:00 - 12:00 to explore some examples of recent transformation of urban streets and locations for potential future mobility hubs. You can sign up on the registration page.
About the SmartHubs project:
The SmartHubs project examines mobility hubs, dedicated on-street locations where citizens can choose from different shared and sustainable mobility options. The main objective is to assess if a co-designed, user-centric development can enable mobility hubs to act as a game changer towards inclusive sustainable urban mobility and accessibility. SmartHubs examines, develops and applies new tools in Living Labs in Brussels, Istanbul, Munich, Rotterdam-The Hague metropolitan region, and Vienna. In Brussels, the local partners, VUB-Mobilise, MPact, Municipality of Anderlecht and Brussels Mobility have co-created the first neighborhood-level prototype mobility hub with key stakeholders (citizens, businesses, transport operators, municipalities, etc.). We have demonstrated the SmartHubs co-creation process with vulnerable people such as ethnic minorities, people with low income or low digital skills in the Cureghem neighbourhood in Anderlecht, which resulted in inclusive designs for a mobility hub at Place du Conseil.
