We are pleased to announce that Lluis Martinez, researcher affiliated with VUB Mobilise, has been awarded a Shared Green Societies Award in the category Advocating for Inclusive Public Policies. The award recognises outstanding work by early-career researchers contributing to a just and inclusive green transition.
The Shared Green Societies Awards, launched by the SHARED GREEN DEAL initiative, aim to highlight and promote impactful early-career research that might otherwise face structural barriers to visibility and uptake. As Professor Chris Foulds, co-coordinator of SHARED GREEN DEAL, explains, the awards seek to “change structures that might limit the impact of this amazing research.”
Lluis Martinez’s work was recognised for its strong focus on inclusive public policy-making, examining how sustainability and climate policies can better incorporate social justice, participation, and the perspectives of diverse communities. His research contributes to ongoing debates on how green transitions can be both environmentally effective and socially fair.
The Shared Green Societies Awards highlight three thematic areas:
Supporting citizen and professional participation
Promoting mutual knowledge flows
Advocating for inclusive public policies
More information about the awards and the selected research projects is available on the Shared Green Deal website:

We warmly congratulate Lluis Martinez, as well as the other award winners and runners-up, on this well-deserved recognition. Their work plays an important role in shaping more inclusive and shared pathways towards a green future.
